If you've been following the progress of the GHPC project, you've noticed that there's been a lack of updates to the live demo for a few months. There's good reason for this, and we're excited to share what the team is working on.
The current demo has been great for bringing together an early tester community (join our Discord server!) and providing a gameplay demo, but it's time to aim higher. To that end, the team has been working on a "vertical slice" build: a polished, tightly focused demo that serves as a representative piece of what we'll be building in the future. The vertical slice will focus on the early end of the time period represented in GHPC, in a setting well known as a focal point of Cold War "what-if" scenarios: the Fulda Gap in Germany.
Our testing area is based on the terrain around Point Alpha, directly on the border. We're building the terrain shape as close to reality as possible and should be able to provide a wide variety of missions in this location.
Vehicle selection for the vertical slice is based on the equipment used by the USA and USSR in the cold war. We aren't including every single type yet - at least not for the initial release of the demo - but we've got some crowd favorites that we think you'll enjoy.
- IPM1 Abrams

Additional posts on the individual vehicles will come soon! For now, you can catch some sneak peeks on the Discord server.

For the month of February 2020, we're hard at work on back-end features of the new demo, including code refactoring, an improved reticle system, performance improvements, and the addition of new weapon types. We expect to spend much of March integrating new vehicle models and doing internal testing before releasing early test builds to Patreon subscribers. When the vertical slice build is ready for release, it will go public!
If you want to get in on the ground floor as a supporter of GHPC, check out our Patreon! Benefits include early access to test builds and unlocking private Discord channels for supporters.
The existing early demo is still available for free.
